Quick Chest then to the Beach!!!!!

Met Sean and Jeff bright and early as usual to do chest. I did 3 sets of 6 @ 155 pounds flat barbell bench press, then 2 sets of 6 @ 125 pounds incline barbell bench press, and finally 2 sets of 6 @ 145 pounds decline barbell bench press.

Then I chaperoned a Jr. High beach day with my churches youth group. It was a blast, we played lots of volleyball, football, and played in the waves. There was a long pile of rocks that goes out into the ocean along a deep river head, and there were some guys fishing for strippers along it. They caught a few while some of us were over there with the biggest one being 28 inches long. Made me wish I had more time to fish this summer.

Back and forearms

I rode my bike with Jeff for about 2 hours yesterday and we got wicked lost and eaten alive. Oh well, it was still a good workout.

Today we lifted back and forearms. I did 3 sets of pull ups (9, 6, 5), then 2 sets of 6 @ 120 pounds v-bar pull downs, then 2 sets of 6 @ 135 pounds standing back rows. Then I did 2 sets of 8 @ 85 barbell forearm curls and 1 set of 6 @ 35 pound dumbells forearm curls. Finally we finished with abs.

Chest

Sean and Jeff were both there before me today to make up for yesterday. I did 3 sets of 6 @ 155 pounds flat bench press, 2 sets of 6 @ 115 pounds incline bench press, and 1 set of 6 @ 145 pounds decline bench press. Let me tell you, decline bench press is one weird excersise to perfom, you feel like you are going to fall off or drop the weight on you throat the whole time. But it is good for getting lower chest muscles.

Then I finished up with some weight ab stuff.

Lifting the past few weeks

So I haven't been lazy, just really busy and haven't posted in forever. I am still going to the gym every morning during the week to meet Sean and Jeff. Also I have been biking a ton and even squeezed in a run about a week ago. I am in a pickel though, to be ready to do the half-marathon I need to start training seriously again. But I am so busy with everything else that I am doing and find these other activities much more fun. So, should I just let Danelle or someone use my bib number and not do the race or plan on doing the race but maybe not performing at my normal level? I am in great shape, just not running shape.

I climbed Mount Washington on Saturday and it was awesome. The views were so beautiful, I will post some pictures once stephen sends me his. I forgot to charge my camera batteries and didn't notice they were dead until we got to the mountain. It was also a very challenging hike and I am still sore and having trouble walking down stairs today :). Its just over 6200 ft tall and it took us 3 hours and 45 minutes to hike up, then we took a shorter but steeper route down and made it back to the car in about 2 hours.
