Running and Lifting

I didn't get into contact with Pete to see if we were meeting so I just went to ymca and ran 5k again, this time in 23:20. Then I stretched and did abs. I don't know if it was because i pushed myself so hard running or if I was dehydrated or what but I felt terrible after my run. I was very light headed and felt like I was going to throw up. As a result my lifting stunk. I only did 2 sets of 10 @ 55 pound dumbbells flat bench press and 3 sets of 10 @ 65 pound barbbell curls.

Had you eaten a little something before your run?

I had a granola bar before, maybe that was it, not enough fuel.

you're going to laugh, but i've found eating these cookies 30-60 minutes before running works well:

wisk together:
1 C brown sugar
.5 C white sugar
4T yogurt
add these and mix well:
.75C apple sauce
2 egg whites
2t vanilla extract
1t baking soda
1t nutmeg
1t cinnamon
add and mix:
3 grated carrots
.5C ground flax
1C whole wheat flour
add and mix:
1C raisins
1C chocolate chips
3C oatmeal

either bake as bars or on a cookie sheet. almost zero fat (except from the chocolate and) but enough sugar to give you a little boost.

of course, getting into baking might make attaining the status of 'stud master' even more difficult.

haha, this is true, that sounds really good though so maybe I will see if I can get my mom to make them.

Well I made them myself today and they were really good. I already ate like a 1/6 of them :). Thanks for giving me the recipe nate.
